Turkiye lifts ban on domestic AN sales until late May – Turkiye

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the country has introduced new measures regulating fertilizer supply in response to the geopolitical developments in the Middle East. As part of these steps, the use of AN in the agricultural sector has been temporarily allowed again in an effort to engage domestic production capacity and ensure more affordable fertilizer prices for farmers. It will be permitted to sell and ship the product through30 May 2026. Reminder: AN (33%) sales to agricultural users were suspended on 8 June 2016 to prevent its potential use in homemade explosives.
Distributors, fertilizer manufacturers and importers will have to join the Fertilizer Tracking System to deliver AN to customers. Distributors will be able to complete sales to farmers only after registering incoming volumes in their stocks. The system will determine farmers’ entitlement to purchases based on the plot size and cropping patterns entered into the Farmer Registration System. Distributors will also be required to put stock withdrawals on the register when selling AN.
Note: local producers were prohibited from exporting urea, AS (21%), AN (33.5%) and CAN (26%) in Q1 2026.
