Trade in Algerian granular urea stayed flat globally in the first half of this week; however, it has gained momentum in its second half. Sorfert has reportedly sold 8,000 t of the granular fertilizer to an undisclosed trader at $515/t FOB Algeria for late September—early October dispatch to Europe. This is $15/t above the previous transaction price recorded in late August.
It seems that Algerian manufacturers feel comfortable with urea shipments for this month. They are still aiming to close new deals for the product at about $530/t FOB Algeria.
