Singapore, 12 March (Argus) — Two tankers have been attacked south of Al Basrah, Iraq, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said today. Iraq has suspended operations at its oil terminals, according to the director general of the General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) Farhan Al-Fartousi.
The UKMTO received notice of an incident at 22:30 GMT on 11 March, where a third party reported that two vessels were struck by an unknown projectile.
