Bangladeshi company receives urea offers under both tenders | Bangladesh


On 12 May, BCIC closed two tenders to buy 100,000 t of bagged granular urea and 100,000 t of the bulk granular product. Under the first tender, two 25,000-tonne lots shall be shipped to Chattogram (Chittagong) port and two same-sized batches to Mongla seaport. Under the second tender, four 25,000-tonne batches of bulk granular urea shall be dispatched to Mongla or Chattogram (Chittagong) within 40 days from the purchase order date.
Agro Industrial, the agent of Liven Nutrients in Bangladesh, made the lowest offers of $839.87/t CFR Chittagong and $841/t CFR Mongla under the first tender. Under the second one, Aditya Birla Global Trading submitted the lowest offer of $795/t CFR Chittagong/Mongla for 25,000 t of the bulk granular grade. Sources say the offered fertilizer may be of Middle Eastern, Russian, Iranian, Chinese or Vietnamese origins. BCIC had yet to award both urea purchase tenders at press time.
