Typically,\u00c2\u00a0<i>n<\/i>\u00c2\u00a0lies between 10 and 16, although generally supplied as a tighter cut, such as C<sub>12<\/sub>-C<sub>15<\/sub>, C<sub>12<\/sub>-C<sub>13<\/sub>\u00c2\u00a0and C<sub>10<\/sub>-C<sub>13<\/sub>, for detergent use.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0The C<sub>n<\/sub>H<sub>2n+1<\/sub>\u00c2\u00a0chain is unbranched. They are mainly produced as intermediate in the production of\u00c2\u00a0surfactants, for use in\u00c2\u00a0detergent.
