Introduction<\/strong><\/h4>\n

CBI\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>is produced<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0from the different residual products manufactured\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>during the production of<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0combined ferrous products and semi-refined raw material containing sponge iron (DRI fines and\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>also<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0other residuals).<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0Some producers use cold briquette in their pellet DRI\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>so that they can<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0feed it into their particular furnace. CBI\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>is produced<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0at a temperature<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0below 650\u00c2\u00b0 C, and a binder is generally needed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shipping and Logistic<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Since the <\/span>briquetting<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0process has proceeded at a temperature lower than that used for HBI, some of the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>key<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0specifications of DRI, like porosity, almost\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>large<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0surface space, and a reactive surface, last in the CBI to some degree, so, basically, CBI can have very similar or the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>same<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0specifications to pellet DRI and shall be handled in\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>exactly<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0the same way, as the tendency to overheating and generating hydrogen gas, if it gets wet,\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>still<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0remains. It is\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>definitely of significance<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0to know the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>original<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0source of material used to produce CBI. If\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>this cannot be verified<\/span>, then the CBI shall be handled and shipped in the same manner to DRI.<\/span><\/p>\n
