Egypt removes export duty on nitrogen fertilizers | Egypt

On 1 August 2026, the Egyptian government abolished the 10% export duty on nitrogen fertilizers, including prilled and granular urea, AN/CAN, UAN and AS. As a result, FOB prices for transactions concluded from this date are no longer subject to the export fee.
Reminder: in early May 2026, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade introduced an additional export fee of $90/t on nitrogen fertilizers, initially set to apply from 5 May to 4 August 2026. In late June 2026, the flat $90/t duty was replaced with a duty equivalent to 10% of the final FOB price, effective until further notice.
